Our First Project
Refuge without Boundaries' first project was to facilitate the visit of the 13th Kundeling Rimpoche to three Florida Correctional Institutions.
The Ven. Kundeling greeted each inmate at Polk, Hillsborough and Sumter CIs and answered questions that ranged from queries about his own upbringing to profound Dharma subjects.
From everyone's comments, the Kundeling's visit was an amazing success.
Welcome!
Whether you are seeking refuge or wish to provide it for others, you are welcome to join the journey.
Our Biggest Event of 2011
Our most ambitious project of 2011 is to sponsor the Shar Gaden Monastery World Peace Tour.
"Shar Gaden monks share cultural and religious activities to promote happiness and peace around the world," says Ven. Zawa Tulku Lobsang Dorje Tenzin.
The tour will include cities in Florida, New York, Vermont and Canada.
Come share the peace with the Buddhist monks from Shar Gaden.
Our First Spiritual Forum
On November 13, 2010, Refuge without Boundaries co-sponsored a day of ideas, discussion and interaction between local spiritual groups with Unity of Tampa. Representatives from Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic and Jewish traditions presented their view on The Relevance of Religion in the World Today. Each presentation was followed by panel and group discussions of these ideas. Next steps include an Interfaith in Action initiative. Stay tuned for details.
The mission of Refuge without Boundaries is to provide protection for those who are seeking spiritual, mental and physical refuge. We are non-sectarian and do no proselytize any tradition. We seek mutual respect and tolerance for all.
Our purpose is to provide a forum where people can receive Dharma Teachings; discuss ideas and exchange information and to promote dialogue between different Buddhist groups and those of other faiths. We welcome all pilgrims from the 'free world' and from Florida's Correctional Institutions to join this journey.
